We offer a multitude of lawn fertilizer programs, including a five-step traditional lawn program, a hybrid lawn program and an organic lawn program.
Our most popular is the traditional five step program, which addresses all the fertilizer requirements for season long growth and health. Additionally this program incorporates the necessary post and pre-emergent crabgrass, weed controls and insect controls as needed for the growing season. This program is based upon the nutrient needs of the turf and each fertilizer application supplies 3/4 of a pound to 1 pound of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet. The applications are applied when appropriate weather and soil conditions are correct. Each fertilizer application has some slow release nitrogen so continued feeding occurs over the 4 – 6 week period.
Step One – Early Spring
A balanced fertilizer in combination with crabgrass control.
April 1st through May 28th.
First lawn application is a balanced granular fertilizer in combination with a pre-emergent crabgrass and weed control. The timing of first application is based upon soil temperatures.
Watering of fertilizer products may or may not be necessary, suggested watering requirements will be made after application has been completed.
Step Two – Late Spring, Early Summer
A balanced fertilizer in combination with broadleaf weed control as needed.
Mid May thru July 15th.
This application consists of a balanced granular fertilizer in combination with spot treating of weeds as necessary.
This is the same time frame that we apply the granular grub control.
The watering of fertilizer, Insect and weed control products may or may not be necessary, suggested watering requirements will be made after application has been completed.
Step Three – Mid Summer, Late Summer
A balanced, slow release fertilizer with weed control as needed.
Time of this application July 15th to around September 1st.
This application is a balanced granular fertilizer, with slow release nitrogen to elimiante burn and to slowly feed turf during this normal hot and dry period. Spot treating of weeds can be done as conditions warrant.
Lawn conditions change during this time frame and many times additional watering is required. However depending on the community where you live, restrictions on watering green spaces may be imposed.
Step Four – Early-Mid Fall
A balanced fertilizer, autumn weed control as needed.
Fourth application is a balanced granular fertilizer in combination with spot treating weeds as needed. Time of this application would be from September 1st thru mid November, this is also the time of the year where the lime should be applied.
Step Five – Late Fall
A balanced fertilizer to prepare your lawn for the winter ahead.
Hybrid
Our second most popular is still a five step program based upon soil pH, organic matter and nutrient levels with (see more).
Organic
Our third program relies on a 100% organic approach, soil testing, turf identifying and cultural (see more).
